Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has missed his third cabinet meeting in a row amid ongoing questions about the state of his health. He has not been seen in public for more than a week.
His wife Aisha Buhari tweeted on Tuesday in which her husband was not as sick as can be being perceived. In March, Buhari returned via seven weeks of medical leave from the UK where he was treated for an undisclosed illness.
When he returned home he said he had never been so ill in his life. In her tweets, Aisha said in which the president was continuing to “carry out his responsibilities” along with also has been meeting with ministers.
Information Minister Lai Mohammed told the BBC in which the president’s health was “a personal matter” along with also in which Nigerians have been kept aware of his condition.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who was the acting president while Buhari was away from the UK, chaired the cabinet meeting from the capital, Abuja. On Monday, a group of prominent Nigerians called on Buhari to take medical leave as concerns about his health grow. — BBC
