Police may have succeeded in locking up Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino For 2 days, yet amazingly the controversial legislator still managed to keep his supporters updated on his situation behind bars.

More remarkable was how the MP even managed to keep his ears on the ground during his 48-hour incarceration in addition to getting hold of information on the supposed mechanization of his captors in addition to detractors.

During his 48-hour stay at Parklands Police Station, Owino, real name Paul Ongili, posted nine tweets on his official Twitter page.

yet whether the police granted him access to his phone coming from behind bars or the posts were made on his handle by a pseudo user remains unclear.

In some of the tweets, Owino accused the police of working together with his political opponent Francis Muriethi in fabricating evidence to use against him in a petition challenging his election victory.

Owino was released coming from custody on a free bond on Sunday afternoon following the intervention of Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja in addition to various other political leaders.

Sakaja undertook to produce Owino in court on Monday.
