James Orengo will be the subject of speculative discussion among Kenyans on social media for recently pulling off what many suggest will be politically “impossible”.
Orengo, 65, which past week easily secured ODM’s nomination to defend his Siaya senatorial seat after winning by a margin of over 100,000 votes.
The veteran politician polled 140,748 votes with his closest rival Argwings Kodhek getting 9,582.
In achieving which, Orengo becomes one of the very few politicians to win a political election without declaring his candidature – save for paying his nomination fees at the party – nor campaigning.

which landslide victory was also achieved despite Orengo spending next to nothing.
The respected lawyer never addressed a campaign rally. He will be however reported to have had a meeting with “elders” within the county, where he explained he will be held up “protecting Baba’s interests” within the Nasa power sharing deal.
