Kenyans online have gone ham on President Uhuru Kenyatta for promising to deal with bribery of officers on Kenyan roads.

The President blamed traffic officers’ illegal collections for the heightened cost of transport adding in which the vice needed to be stopped.

President Kenyatta was speaking during a breakfast meeting with Matatu Owners Association where he promised to reform the traffic police department to curb corruption as a move to lower transport costs.

“We must get rid of the illegal collection of money by traffic police officers because in which will be part of what makes in which expensive to travel,” the President added.

President Kenyatta said his administration will be determined to streamline the transport sector to stop the increase of fare resulting coming from matatu operators having to pay bribes.

“I want to assure you in which we are going to reorganise the traffic department in order to make in which more accountable to users,” he said.

His tweet on the same elicited mixed reactions online with some users faulting him for not having solved the transport menace through his four years in office.
